Commitment Statement
Write a short commitment statement to yourself identifying what new skill(s) from this class you promise to carry forward into the new school year. Make this the final post on your new blog.
This class provided a plethora of new knowledge which gave me a stronger foundation for digital leadership. I have always seen myself as comfortable with technology, but after these last two weeks my confidence multiplied. The value of social media in our schools is powerful for connectivity. I am making the commitment to use Twitter and Facebook to connect to the stakeholders at my school. My challenge is to post not only regularly, but meaningfully. Additionally, I commit to promoting the concept of technology as a tool, not a solution. As many schools begin 1:1 initiatives, like mine this year, leadership and development will be essential. I now feel that I have a stake in being one of the digital leaders at my school as take the 1:1 journey with iPads. The key will be removing roadblocks to ensure technology is embraced and sustained. I am excited to use the websites and tools with my peers to spark innovative instruction.

The new blog looks great Rodgers. I am interested in the implementation of iPads versus Chromebooks/laptops. I enjoyed the versatility of the iPad as a teacher, but my students preferred the feel and functionality of the laptops. I'm not sure why they felt this way and they couldn't quite describe it either. I know Ashley is getting iPads as well and I will be sure to follow up with you two on how it goes.
ReplyDeleteGreat reminder for the need for posts to meaningful. Well done Erick!
